Consistent with Cherokee’s core values, Cherokee Gives Back is focused on creating sustainable revenue to support its activities. Revenues are derived from three sources: (1) donations from individuals and corporations, (2) grants, and (3) real estate development.

 
Real Estate Development

Cherokee Gives Back will achieve long-term sustainability by engaging in redevelopment initiatives (unrelated to Cherokee’s activities), where we can make a difference in a community and in the environment, while creating value that can support our good works across the world.

 
Cherokee Exchange Program

Cherokee Gives Back manages an academic study-abroad program with schools to facilitate year-long study opportunities for Ethiopian students in the United States. Cherokee believes the unique academic and cultural experiences gained in the program will help equip students to become successful leaders back home. [more]

 
Volunteer Program Ethiopia

In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Cherokee Gives Back is working to strengthen educational and leadership opportunities and opens its doors to people who would like to volunteer and experience Ethiopia.

 
Make It Right

In 2007, Cherokee Gives Back  partnered with Brad Pitt, the Jolie- Pitt Foundation, Graft, William McDonough + Partners and  residents of the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans in connection with   a project to help the city recover from the lasting devastation caused by  Hurricane Katrina. [more]

 
EcoCurrent

A company dedicated to developing commercial processes to convert biomass, including animal waste, to electric power and other valuable byproducts. The venture, led by Cherokee Gives Back, is collaboration among other private interests and North Carolina universities.

Any profits that Cherokee Gives Back receives from this venture will be used to fund the various philanthropic activities of Cherokee Gives Back.
