Who We Are
A private nonprofit foundation, Cherokee Gives Back serves as the philanthropic arm of Cherokee, the leading private equity firm investing capital and expertise in brownfield redevelopment. Cherokee Gives Back is dedicated to improving the lives of the world’s poor and disadvantaged by applying sound business practices and compassionate service in two strategic areas:

  • Engaging in philanthropic activities that catalyze positive, sustainable change and improve lives and across the world.

  • Complementing the positive work of Cherokee by providing philanthropic activities that alleviate poverty and strengthen neighborhoods in the communities in which the firm serves. Cherokee Gives Back philanthropic activities are wholly separate from investments that are made by Cherokee.
